Elizabeth Metropolitan Logistics Center

Located on a 20-acre site near Newark International Airport and Port Newark-Elizabeth, the Elizabeth Metropolitan Logistics Center encompasses two warehouses totaling 300,000 SF, 53 loading docks, 84 trailer stalls, and 174 car spaces. As part of the entitlement, Langan coordinated with the city on a site redevelopment plan, including a streetscape design to separate the industrial park from residential areas. We also designed a stormwater-management system with five bioretention basins, performed site assessments to evaluate soil and groundwater quality, and identified two areas in need of in situ remediation. With Langan’s design and oversight, the remediation was quickly completed, in conjunction with the site work, to avoid any effects on the construction timeline.
