Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center

OVERVIEW
Named after the social/religious leader who founded New York City’s first charitable institution in the late-1700s, this nonprofit care center has offered long-term, specialty care for children with complex medical conditions since 1987. The 165,000-SF facility is divided into four separate four-story “green” buildings centered around a family-style play center. Langan’s site/civil engineers provided design and construction administration services for site layout, internal roadways and parking; mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining wall, stormwater management and conveyance system including on-site filtration and detention, soil sedimentation and erosion control; sanitary sewer, water mains, and overall utility connections and routing from the site to South Westchester Executive Park and City of Yonkers utility services. Designs were in accordance New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, City of Yonkers, and Westchester County Health Department codes and regulations. The project, which was scheduled to be completed in two-years, was finished in just 21 months.
