Heron Apartments

Heron Apartments is an innovative, residential multi-tower development consisting of 21- and 26-story towers connected by a central podium. The development contains 25,000 SF of ground-floor retail and grocery space. The podium consists of four levels of parking and rooftop amenities, including green spaces and a swimming pool. As the project’s geotechnical engineer-of-record, Langan conducted a geotechnical engineering study, assisted the design and construction team during pre-construction value-engineering exercises, prepared foundation specifications, and provided construction observation during foundation testing and production. We also designed a sophisticated, comprehensive load-test program and an extensive supplemental/pilot boring program to address challenging subsurface conditions, which included a thick clay layer that separated two competent limestone strata.
