JFK International Airport – New Terminal One

OVERVIEW
The New Terminal One at JFK International Airport is a 2.4 million SF world-class terminal that will include 23 gates and 300,000 SF of dining, retail, lounges, and recreational space. The project will replace Terminals 1 and 2 and will update the site with new roadways and critical utility replacements. Langan prepared the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and Environmental Management Plan; completed an initial baseline evaluation of the site; conducted a supplemental geotechnical investigation to fill in data gaps at the new headhouse, roadways, and utility corridors; and performed site-specific seismic analyses. During construction, Langan evaluated the pile driving performance, support of excavation installation, and general earthwork activities, and assisted the design-build team in value engineering, developing a surcharge program to eliminate hundreds of piles.
