Joint Lab Facility

OVERVIEW
The Pennsylvania Department of General Services is redeveloping the former Harrisburg State Hospital site into a research campus with a 300,000 SF joint laboratory complex. The complex will unite four agencies—the Department of Agriculture, Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Health, and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources—with shared state-of-the-art resources and amenities. The project will also add a 95,000 SF laboratory for the Pennsylvania State Police, a greenhouse, forensic impression fields, a garage, and new trail connections to the Capital Area Greenbelt. Langan’s integrated team developed construction documents by working directly with end-users from each agency to seamlessly take the project from concept to bid and stay within the aggressive schedule and budget.
