Kearny Point Redevelopment

Several obstacles prevented redevelopment of this former processing plant site. These obstacles included contamination, geotechnical challenges requiring significant foundation improvements, poor infrastructure and a complex permitting process. The site was remediated over a 10+ year period to eliminate environmental contaminants before Langan became involved in the project. Langan participated in the final remediation effort, by designing a soil cap to preclude contact with low levels of contaminants that were not removed during the remediation effort. Besides directing on-site improvements, Langan designed off-site improvements to Central Avenue.
