The MSG Sphere

Located on an 18.6-acre parcel at The Venetian, The Sphere is a cutting-edge, multi-function entertainment venue with 17,385 seats—10,000 of which are immersive—and an interior 160,000 SF LED screen. The Sphere stands 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide and features 580,000 SF of LEDs on the exterior, which can be seen from space. Langan conducted extensive field investigations to address geotechnical challenges at the site, including borings, test pits, monitoring wells, and geophysical testing for the design and load testing of auger cast piles. We also addressed the foundation design and support alternatives for a pedestrian bridge connecting the venue to the Venetian Convention & Expo Center given the congestion of underground utilities, provided construction administration, and conducted quality assurance agency inspections for deep foundations.
