New Milford Riverfront Revitalization

Langan provided landscape architecture, site/civil, and traffic services for the revitalization of a 32-acre riverfront park. Historically separated from the town’s Village Center by a steep bluff, active rail lines, and municipal infrastructure, Young’s Field Park lacked safe and intuitive connections to the Housatonic River and surrounding open spaces. The revitalization master plan establishes organized parking, enhanced pedestrian and bicycle connectivity, recreational amenities, and flood-resilient design strategies to align with zoning, wetlands, and transportation requirements while reconnecting the downtown area to the riverfront.
