Packer Collegiate Institute, Garden House

OVERVIEW
Located on the southeast corner of Packer Collegiate Institute’s campus, the Garden House project transformed a landmark brownstone from the 1860s into a four-story facility for the lower school. The building includes multi-use classrooms, office spaces, a glass-enclosed rooftop terrace, and flexible spaces for collaborative learning. Langan carefully conducted a subsurface exploration to preserve the historic site and adjacent facilities. We also prepared a waste characterization report to inform construction costs, designed the support of excavation, and collaborated with the landscape architect to coordinate detailed grading of ADA paths throughout the site to improve circulation and accessibility.
