Pennsylvania Station Redevelopment

Langan was responsible for the planning and performance of the geotechnical investigation, foundation design recommendations, and controlled inspection of test borings for the proposed public private partnership during the redevelopment of Pennsylvania Station. The proposed partnership involved an initial estimate of $310 million for two developers, Related Companies and Vornado Realty Trust, to develop retail rights within the James A. Farley Post Office building. The existing Pennsylvania Station train tracks are located beneath the existing 8th Avenue Farley Building Post Office and Farley Building West Annex.
