The Journal

Located in the heart of Jersey City’s Journal Square neighborhood, The Journal is a transformative mixed-use development. It comprises two 64-story residential towers with 1,723 units total, 45,000 SF of amenities, 40,000 SF of ground-floor retail, and a 1.5-acre public plaza featuring a memorial fountain. The development is adjacent to the Journal Square PATH Station, creating a vibrant transit-oriented hub. Langan provided site/civil, geotechnical, traffic, survey, landscape architecture, and land use planning services for the project. We secured site plan approvals from Jersey City and Hudson County, ensuring compliance with the city’s redevelopment plan, and obtained NJDEP Treatment Works Approval, a Water Extension Permit, and a Soil Erosion and Sediment Control certification. We also provided comprehensive construction administration, including full-time geotechnical observation during foundation work and oversight of utility and plaza installation.
