The 30-year-old, 470-foot-tall tower that housed the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton will be demolished and replaced by a 47-story, mixed-use tower. Once complete, the 550,000-SF building will consist of retail space, dining space, a performance venue, and a 669-room hotel. Langan’s geotechnical engineers provided a subsurface investigation that included performing borings and test pits at the site. Langan's environmental engineers collected soil samples and composite soil samples for analysis of waste characterization parameters. Langan is also performing New York City special inspections for the support of excavation and foundations for the new building including subgrade for new footings and drilled caissons inspections.
