Wando Welch Terminal

Langan is providing GIS consulting, data assessment, and data development services at the Wando Welch Terminal. We completed the GIS data assessment of water and electric utility datasets as part of South Carolina Ports Authority’s (SCSPA) initiative to enhance data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity across its infrastructure portfolio. The assessment included reviewing spatial and attribute data against as-built drawings and high-resolution imagery, and standardizing the datasets to SCSPA’s data quality protocols. Our digital solutions team conducted rigorous QA/QC procedures, often exceeding SCSPA’s expectations. The finalized datasets now serve as an authoritative resource supporting daily operations and informed decision-making. Langan is continuing its partnership with SCSPA on the remaining infrastructure at Wando Welch Terminal—including communications, sanitary sewer, natural gas, marine, and architectural systems—with plans to expand the effort to additional ports.
