Westchester Reform Temple

OVERVIEW
Westchester Reform Temple underwent a nine-year renovation to update, improve, and expand the existing site and facilities. The project included construction of a 12,000-SF sanctuary and 14,000-SF religious school. Langan provided site/civil engineering services throughout multiple phases of the project. Our responsibilities included design drawings, construction documents (site plan, grading and drainage plan, utility plan, and soil erosion and sediment control plan), preparation of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, review of contractor submittals, and QA/QC during the construction phase. In addition, we prepared a submission for the Westchester Department of Health for a new sanitary sewer connection and relocation of an existing section of sewer. Westchester Reform Temple’s expansion received LEED Silver certification, making it one of the first synagogues in the country to incorporate sustainable building practices into the design and construction process.
