Air Modeling

Langan has an experienced in-house team of modeling experts to support air dispersion modeling needs for air permit applications, toxic air pollutant and health risk assessments, mobile source evaluations, and strategic evaluations. Our team uses the EPA AERMOD dispersion model to estimate concentrations of pollutants for comparison with air quality or nuisance odor thresholds. This model is instrumental in assessing the impact of emissions from various sources, including industrial facilities, to ensure compliance with federal and state air quality standards. In addition to AERMOD, our team is experienced with the EPA MOVES (Motor Vehicle Emission Simulator) model, which estimates emissions from vehicles for use in mobile source analyses to evaluate the impact of traffic-related emissions on local air quality.

We offer comprehensive problem-solving to provide air quality modeling that is conservative but realistic and meets the applicable regulatory requirements. Our services involve detailed analysis and adjustments based on site-specific data, meteorological conditions, and emission source characteristics. We also provide strategic support, including the development of mitigation measures and best practices to minimize emissions and their impacts. Our team stays ahead of regulatory changes and modeling techniques, providing our clients with the most current and effective solutions for their air quality challenges. Langan’s air quality dispersion modeling services are designed to deliver defensible and regulatory-compliant results, helping our clients navigate the complexities of air quality regulations and achieve their environmental and operational performance goals.
