Langan Oil and Gas Qualifications and Experience

Success in the shale oil and gas industry has everything to do with harnessing the full potential of your assets through quality performance.  Unparalleled commitment, coupled with exceptional performance, is what Langan brings to every project and client.

Upstream projects are your company’s biggest investment. Protecting that investment calls for more than just construction knowledge. You also need a consultant who can handle all the unique challenges of your project, from complex subsurface geology to permitting hurdles to creating access points for remote sites.

Midstream projects are notoriously complex, from routing pipelines across existing infrastructure to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission filing requirements to addressing local air quality. Keeping your project moving efficiently requires a consultant that can provide multidisciplinary support.

Downstream projects are diverse, including cost-effective approaches to energy development, facility expansion and site remediation.  They require a consultant that has decades of complex facility experience and has conducted hundreds of site feasibility studies and due diligence investigations.

Freshwater Impoundments for Natural Gas Production

OVERVIEW
Langan supports multiple clients in the design and permitting of freshwater impoundments storing water to be used for hydrofracing natural gas production wells. Langan's team completes field and desktops reviews to evaluate site conditions and to develop the most efficient permitting strategy possible. Designs are created with the goal to maximize storage capacity without triggering the need for dam permits. Langan also designs site layouts, earthwork, and stormwater control for the sites and secures needed erosion and sediment control permits.

Tennessee Gas Pipeline – Wetland Mitigation Projects

OVERVIEW
Langan performed wetland delineations at each proposed wetland mitigation site and coordinated with the US Army Corps of Engineers and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to determine existing wetland/upland boundaries. Langan utilized GIS based mapping tools to prepare and submit Wetland Mitigation Plans to the regulatory agencies for review and approval.

Hyde Beach Residence Dewatering

OVERVIEW
This project involves the construction of 40+ story condominium tower and parking garage. The site, a former gasoline service station, was contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil and groundwater, which was very shallow and required dewatering to enable construction. Excavations were to occur in an organic peat layer and the Miami Limerock, which is highly permeable but not suitable for many methods of dewatering. Langan provided dewatering design and permitting services for multiple phases of the foundation and utility construction at the entire project site.

Former Gas Plant Remediation & Ecological Restoration

OVERVIEW
Langan developed and gained regulator agreement on a final remedy for a former major oil corporation gas plant site located in Southern California. The agreed upon path to closure utilized a background analysis and risk assessment to identify attainable remedial cleanup standards for constituents of potential concern. By taking a face-to-face approach with regulators (DTSC, Region 9 EPA, Central Coast RWQCB, County of Santa Barbara) and presenting a strong argument for a risk-based strategy to closure, Langan was able to achieve an agreed upon 1 to 2 year path to closure that was 27 years (case opened in 1988) in the making with two previous consultants.
