One Boerum Place

OVERVIEW
One Boerum Place, a mixed-use condominium building, is located at the corner of Fulton Street and Boerum Place in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn atop the Borough Hall MTA Subway Station. The 240,000 SF, 21-story structure consists of 122 residential units, roof deck, terraces, fitness center, pool, sauna, lounge, and an underground parking garage. Langan’s site/civil engineers gathered information from public agencies to evaluate the civil engineering issues within the site. Langan also coordinated with New York City Department of Parks & Recreation to remove existing trees during construction, and not plant new trees once the building is completed.

11th and Venango Playground

OVERVIEW
Located in the Hunting Park neighborhood of Philadelphia, this site formerly housed the Richardson L. Wright public school. The school was demolished in the 1980s and the asphalt lot has since served as an informal recreation space for the community. Langan was hired to develop a PPR-designed concept plan into workable construction documents. Since the site is being significantly de-paved, our team leveraged disconnection of impervious surfaces to reduce the required stormwater infiltration system footprint and cost. Our site/civil and landscape architecture teams collaborated on drainage and utility design to reduce costs and honor the concept design.

HUMC – Helena Theurer Pavilion

OVERVIEW
The Helena Theurer Pavilion is a nine-story, 530,000 SF surgical and intensive care “smart hospital.” The facility incorporates innovative technology into a thoughtfully designed space to provide an enhanced, collaborative atmosphere for patients, physicians, and medical staff. Langan assisted with site improvements associated with the development, including an internal circulation driveway, walkways, retaining walls, utilities, and stormwater management. We also completed a full site survey, 3D scan of the interior and exterior of existing buildings, and an existing conditions BIM model. The design team used the BIM model for building placement, site and utility connections, and design.

Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute

OVERVIEW
Langan provided site/civil engineering services for the new global headquarters for Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute. Located in Lake Nona Medical City, the state-of-the-art building is LEED-certified and spans over 35,000 SF.

Lafayette College – Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center

OVERVIEW
Lafayette College’s approximately 80,000-SF new Integrated Sciences Center is situated on Anderson Courtyard and adjacent to the Acopian Engineering Center. The project meets the US Green Building Council’s LEED Gold Status – one of the highest industry standards for sustainability. Langan was the site/civil consultant for the project and responsible for site feasibility services to evaluate various site configurations, zoning and code implications, as well as providing landscape architecture and planning. Langan was also responsible for the preparation of land development drawings and the submission of these drawings to local, county and state review agencies.

Burlingame Point

OVERVIEW
One of the Bay Area’s largest office developments on the Peninsula, Burlingame Point is a visionary and dynamic commercial development comprising four office buildings, an amenity building, and a parking structure with a series of walking paths and open plazas. Located on 18 acres of waterfront property, the development has been fully leased to Facebook and will achieve LEED Gold. The project includes the realignment of Airport Boulevard and construction of a pedestrian bridge. Langan evaluated subsurface conditions and potential seismic and geologic hazards, including slope stability of portions of Sanchez Channel and the San Francisco Bay shoreline. Our environmental team performed an Environmental Site Assessment I and soil sampling and analysis.
