Sylvan Way Improvements

OVERVIEW
Langan provided site/civil engineering and landscape architecture services in support of upgrades and improvements to an aging office park campus undergoing a re-tenanting program. The campus features three buildings of Class-A office space totaling nearly 450,000 GSF in Northern New Jersey. Langan worked with the architect and owner to design site improvements that included entry renovations, additional outdoor circulation and gathering spaces and connectivity throughout the buildings and existing parking areas. Our landscape architects designed an associated path and plantings to create a pedestrian greenway connecting two of the three buildings. Our project scope also includes landscape design and finishes for an existing stormwater pond on the property.

Brooklyn Navy Yard – Building 77

OVERVIEW
Built in 1942 for the United States Navy’s operations during WWII, Building 77 exclusively functioned as a warehouse until 2010. Standing at 18 stories and roughly 1,000,000 SF, it is the largest building on the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s 300-acre campus. Today, the building has been transformed into a mix of co-working, commercial, and a light industrial hub that supports the ongoing redevelopment of the Brooklyn Navy Yard as an urban manufacturing complex and spurring economic development. Langan provided site/civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering services during the renovation.

Braman Auto Storage Facility

OVERVIEW
The Braman Auto Storage Facility is in the City of Miami and is a 500,000-SF parking garage and auto showroom on Biscayne Boulevard between NE 20th and NE 21st Streets. The parking garage is seven levels with an auto storage capacity of 1,600 cars. Langan provided geotechnical engineering services for this project that included a subsurface investigation, load tests for high-capacity augercast piles, and monitoring and certification of production pile installation. The high-capacity augercast pile system allowed for efficient load distribution and relatively easy and timely construction of foundation elements. Langan worked with the design and construction team to assure project requirements regarding foundation design and construction were met.
