Painted Desert Inn

OVERVIEW
The Painted Desert Inn sits within the Petrified Forest National Park. This historic landmark has been through many renovations in the past 100 years and now functions as a museum. Langan assisted with the rehabilitation of the Inn by performing a geotechnical investigation and analysis to identify potential causes of cracking. Our investigation required close coordination with the National Park Service to collect the proper subsurface information and to minimize asset damage to the desert plants, walking trails, and landscape near the Inn. Langan assessed soil and rock conditions supporting the Inn and completed two- and three-dimensional slope stability studies.
