San Francisco-Marin Food Bank Expansion

OVERVIEW
The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank has served the community since 1987, providing meals for over 50,000 households every week. To accommodate growing needs, its 48,400 SF office/warehouse facility underwent an expansion, including a 32,000 SF building wing addition, two loading docks, a cooler room, and rainwater storage cisterns. Langan provided discounted services for this project. We completed Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, prepared a site mitigation plan and dust monitoring plan, and provided environmental observation, sampling, and testing services during construction. We also conducted a supplemental geotechnical investigation, collected soil and bedrock samples for evaluation, and submitted recommendations for foundation types, subgrade preparation, seismic design criteria, and site grading and excavation.

Domino Campus Redevelopment

OVERVIEW
Located on a half-mile waterfront site, the Domino campus development is centered on the adaptive reuse of the Domino Sugar Refinery into a state-of-the-art office and retail building. The refinery, originally built in 1882, was designated a New York City landmark in 2007. Langan surveyed the site; provided grading, drainage, site layout, erosion and sediment control, and utility designs; designed the stormwater treatment system; and developed civil drawings to bring the campus into compliance with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation requirements. Additionally, we prepared the NYC Site Connection Proposal and Master Plan, Backflow Prevention Application, NYC Department of Transportation permit applications, and Builders Pavement Plans for upgraded sidewalks along the public right-of-way.

3 Crossings – The Hive Garage

OVERVIEW
3 Crossings is an innovative mixed-use project located along the Allegheny River. To expand the 20-acre development’s parking options, the team constructed The Hive, a 600-space parking facility that connects Smallman Street to the 3 Crossings campus through a revitalized streetscape and ground-level retail. Langan’s survey team conducted a boundary survey and a subdivision, consolidation, and street vacation plan, and gathered topographic and utility information. Our site/civil team provided full development and landscape architecture plans and designed the site’s stormwater management system.

Salem Fire/EMS – Station 151

OVERVIEW
Station 151 is a 20,000 SF, five-bay, single-story fire and emergency medical services facility. Due to the site’s location on highly liquefiable soil deposits, compacted stone columns (CSC) were selected for mitigation. Langan’s geotechnical team provided a subsurface investigation to evaluate the site’s liquefaction potential and its impact on the construction. We also developed a geotechnical design of the CSC system to mitigate liquefaction-induced settlement and lateral spreading, monitored the CSC installation, and reviewed the affected area to make sure the system met project requirements.

CoreSite NY3 Data Center

OVERVIEW
CoreSite NY3 is a 438,000 SF data center with office space and conference rooms, developed as an expansion of CoreSite’s Secaucus campus. The facility design provides a secure, reliable, and power-dense platform capable of supporting a growing list of enterprises, domestic and international carriers, and cloud providers. It also connects via dark fiber to CoreSite’s data center (NY1) in Manhattan. Langan worked closely with the project team to leverage existing site features in the final design and managed the site layout, grading and drainage, stormwater management calculations, utility design, erosion and sediment control, and landscape and lighting design.

UH Law Center – John M. O’Quinn Law Building

OVERVIEW
Located on the University of Houston (UH)’s main campus, the John M. O’Quinn Law Building represents a new era in legal education for UH Law Center. The project included construction of the five-story, 180,000 SF building, complete with instructional areas, student spaces, clinics, leadership and administrative suites, academic offices, a library, an exterior lounge, and a roof deck. Langan provided site/civil services, including the site layout, grading and drainage, utilities, and detention basins.
