New Canaan Library

OVERVIEW
The New Canaan Library project team committed to developing an energy efficient building with a low carbon footprint, and agreed to an initiative to track building materials and guarantee their production does not include use of forced labor. Langan provided general site layout, grading, and consulting for vehicular pavement areas; developed the stormwater management approach; and conducted a boundary and topographic survey, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, soil characterization sampling, groundwater sampling and permitting, field investigations, and construction administration. We also provided a traffic assessment with options for on-site and off-site parking, and designed a raised pedestrian crosswalk with rectangular rapid flashing beacons and CTDOT encroachment permitting.

Santa Rita Elementary School

OVERVIEW
Langan provided site/civil services for this 14-acre elementary school campus for 800 students, which includes classrooms, collaborative spaces, and a large outdoor area with hardcourts, backstops, a track, and play equipment. The project team of the 105,786-SF school integrated local elements into the design, including the use of Hill Country themes in honor of the surrounding area.

University Hospitals – Bolwell Courtyard

OVERVIEW
The University Hospitals Bolwell Medical Center is redeveloping its courtyard space, including a complete redesign and specific landscape improvement plans. Langan provided schematic and design development landscape plans; developed site improvement plans, which included landscape-planting plans, hardscape plans, planting details, and irrigation performance details; prepared the grading and drainage design; and performed a survey of the site to support the redesigned layout.

2000 Bryant

OVERVIEW
2000 Bryant is a six-story residential building in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District. The development includes 194 units (three of which will be below market), 5,000 SF of retail space, off-street parking, off-street freight loading, and space for production, distribution, and repair (or PDR). The residential common space includes pedestrian mews, an interior podium courtyard, and a roof terrace. Langan addressed challenges related to site/sidewalk layout, grading and drainage, utilities, and stormwater management compliance. Key design elements included low impact development and best management practices for the stormwater management and vapor intrusion mitigation systems.

720 South Wells Street

OVERVIEW
720 South Wells Street is a 29-story, 452-unit high-rise apartment building. The building features a fitness center, outdoor pool, music room, and a shop space. Langan is providing site/civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineering evaluation that will support the Client’s due diligence for construction lending throughout the redevelopment process. Our services will be split into two tasks, a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and general due diligence support.
