UC Riverside School of Medicine – Education Building II

OVERVIEW
The UC Riverside School of Medicine Education Building II will be a 90,000 GSF, five-story building with classrooms, specialized teaching spaces, lecture halls, student support and study facilities, and office space. Langan is the geotechnical engineer of record for this design-build project, providing construction oversight of third-party geotechnical inspectors and support of design documents. We also conducted a comprehensive geotechnical field investigation under tight COVID restrictions, investigated subsurface conditions, and evaluated the geologic and seismic hazards in accordance with the California Geological Survey. We concluded that the site is free from geologic and seismic hazards that would prevent the development.

Stoughton Logistics Park

OVERVIEW
The Stoughton Logistics Park project is redeveloping a 70-acre quarry site into an industrial warehouse campus with three buildings totaling 880,000 SF, as well as 160 loading docks, 155 trailer spaces, and 572 employee parking spaces. The redevelopment includes site improvements to the drainage, utilities, and landscaping, and new and reconfigured connections to the public roadway infrastructure to create vehicle circulation patterns acceptable to the town and the developer. Langan is providing an integrated mix of survey, environmental, site/civil, traffic, geotechnical, landscape architecture, and permitting services for the project.

Walt Disney NYC Headquarters For New York Operations – 7 Hudson Square

OVERVIEW
Home to Disney’s headquarters for New York operations, 4 Hudson Square is a 1.2 million SF, 19-story building with space for up to 5,000 employees. The building will include offices, production studios, a newsroom, executive spaces, a screening room, and outdoor terraces. The live production studios will be located below-grade to ensure isolation from exterior sounds and vibrations. Langan conducted geotechnical and environmental investigations, site surveys, and hazmat sampling and testing, and construction inspections and monitoring. We also provided support of excavation design for a 50-foot excavation adjacent to tunnels and other critical infrastructure.

Hollywood Casino Joliet

OVERVIEW
Hollywood Casino Joliet is relocating to RockRun Collection, a mixed-use development with residential, retail, and entertainment space. The new location allows for more exposure and additional accessibility, as the previous facility was located on a riverboat along the Des Plaines River in accordance with a state requirement prohibiting gambling on dry land. Langan is providing integrated services for this project, including civil design, a geotechnical investigation, and various environmental, surveying, and landscape architecture services.

Midway Village

OVERVIEW
Midway Village is a 35-building residential development with a total of 555 affordable apartments for rent and below-market townhomes for sale, as well as a childcare facility, a community center, and office space. This development replaced a 150-unit residential complex and an outdated park. Langan prepared a Remedial Design Implementation Plan and a Final Remedial Action Plan Amendment, which allowed construction to proceed and provided guidance for the long-term health of current and future residents, the public, and the environment.

The Hill School – Tennis Pavilion

OVERVIEW
The Hill School is adding a two-story, 2,900 SF tennis pavilion to complement its athletic area, which includes eight full-size tennis courts. The pavilion will consist of team locker rooms, faculty offices, and a viewing platform. Langan performed a geotechnical engineering study to characterize subsurface conditions and provide recommendations for foundation systems, earthwork, and excavation. We also coordinated land development submissions and approvals for agencies including the Borough of Pottstown and Montgomery County’s Planning Commission, Municipal Sewer Authority, and Conservation District.
