Park Fifth

OVERVIEW
Langan is providing geotechnical engineering and environmental services for a proposed residential development. The development will include a mid-rise 7-story residential building and a high-rise 23-story residential tower. The project site is located on an approximately 98,900-SF foot lot in the Historic Core neighborhood in the City of Los Angeles. Project challenges include proximity of the proposed development to the limits of the site and adjacent historic structures and below grade tunnel constructions.

The Camden at Selma and Vine

OVERVIEW
The Camden Hollywood is a mixed-use development consisting of a 7-story above-grade structure with over 280 market-rate apartment units and almost 40,000 SF of ground floor commercial space. The building sits on top of a four-story below-grade parking garage. Langan provided geotechnical engineering, deputy grading inspection, and construction observation for this project.

OVERVIEW
Langan provided site/civil and geotechnical engineering services for the development of a mixed-use building that includes 95 senior residential units built over parking and retail spaces. The structure has six above grade levels and one basement level, and an approximate building footprint of about 21,300 square feet.

UCI Medical Center Replacement Hospital

OVERVIEW
Langan evaluated the axial capacities and axial load versus displacement relationships of the piers to be installed for the Replacement Hospital at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. We reviewed the geotechnical investigation report prepared by others and presented the results of our evaluation in a report.

Ventura County Hospital Replacement Wing

OVERVIEW
The Hospital Replacement Wing (HRW) project at Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) consists of a 2-3 story Acute Care Facility, including a basement. The VCMC currently consists of five interconnected hospital buildings: a medical laboratory/cafeteria building, two mental health buildings, a medical office building, and an emergency generator building. The footprint of the proposed HRW is 93,000 SF and is primarily occupied by a parking lot.

UCLA Center for Health Sciences

OVERVIEW
Langan developed site-specific response spectra and time histories for the University of California, Los Angeles Center (UCLA) for Health Sciences. We performed probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) and deterministic analysis to develop smooth, site-specific horizontal spectra for two levels of shaking corresponding to the Design Basis Earthquake (DBE) and Maximum Considered Earthquake (MCE).

Apple Store – Santa Monica

OVERVIEW
Langan provided engineering services for a new 10,000 SF (footprint) retail store in Santa Monica. The development involved the demolition of an existing building structure and excavation between two existing building structures to create the basement level of the new building. Langan provided site/civil engineering, pre-construction conditions documentation, vibration/instrumentation monitoring and construction administration services for the new store.

BMO Stadium

OVERVIEW
Langan provided multidiscipline engineering services in support of the design and construction of a new stadium for the Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Football Club. The 22,000-seat stadium and ancillary structure are being built on a 75-acre site adjacent to the landmark Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Park. During planning and entitlements, Langan performed a hydrology study, developed a preliminary grading plan, provided a utility supply assessment in support of an Environmental Impact Report Addendum, and completed a preliminary geotechnical investigation. During the design phase, we performed a supplemental geotechnical investigation and provided Deputy Grading observation through construction.

Los Angeles Chargers Training Facility

OVERVIEW
Langan provided multi-discipline engineering services in support of the new Los Angeles Chargers NFL training facility and team headquarters in Costa Mesa, California. The project site is a 5-acre redevelopment parcel that required tenant and parking improvements and the construction of new practice fields. As part of the design phase, Langan provided grading and utilities design, land surveying, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and SWPPP monitoring/inspection. Geotechnical services included materials testing, observation and testing earthwork, subgrades for shallow foundations and concrete flatwork, and foundations for fence light standards at the practice fields.

Agua Mansa Commerce Industrial Park and Recreational Park

OVERVIEW
The proposed six-building, 4.5 million-SF Agua Mansa Commerce Industrial Park and 67-acre Open Space Recreational Park are part of the redevelopment of the former Riverside Cement Plant. The site had been used as a quarry for more than a century. Langan is providing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment, geologic and seismic hazard evaluation, and utility and water quality management engineering services. Our multi-disciplined team worked closely with project design consultants during preliminary and final engineering design in order to solve complex earthwork design challenges and utility placements.

Fulfillment Center – San Diego County

OVERVIEW
Langan is providing site/civil and geotechnical engineering for the development of a new 703,000 SF distribution facility on a 63.38 acre site in unincorporated San Diego County, California. The development includes a multi-story AR Sort fulfillment center with 1,770 auto parking spaces, 304 trailer parking spaces and significant site improvements on an undeveloped vacant site. Challenges on the site include significant earthwork mobilization and grading design; drainage and water quality mitigation; and off-site utilities and street improvements.
