ENR New York Names Langan 2023 Design Firm of the Year
Start spreading the news: Langan is #1 in New York City, according to ENR New York. Being named Design Firm of the Year is extremely gratifying, especially after the past few years of uncertainty; like the city itself, Langan proved its resilience and helped keep New York moving and growing from the ground up.
The award acknowledges Langan’s ability to provide environmental and engineering services for clients devoted to helping New York continue to thrive. The firm is working on many of the most significant projects in the region, ranging from affordable housing to high-rise towers and from hospitals to airports. Recent major projects include several terminals at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Helena Theurer Pavilion at Hackensack University Medical Center, brownfield remediation sites along the 1.8-mile-long Gowanus Canal, the massive Willets Point mixed-use redevelopment adjacent to Citi Field, and multiple renewable energy projects.
“We are honored to be recognized by ENR, which is the standard-bearer for the AEC industry,” said George Leventis, Managing Principal at Langan. “These past few years tested our resolve, yet Langan stayed ahead of the circumstances by pivoting to protect the environment, support essential projects, and help our clients achieve their business objectives. We are immensely grateful to our employees, partners, and clients—without your dedication and partnership, our success in the region would not be possible.”
At Langan, the pivot continues. The firm is positioned to support renewable initiatives that will fortify the energy grid and large infrastructure projects that will improve access to the city. Furthermore, Langan services are evolving to include a variety of digital solutions, and nationwide teams focused on ESG consulting and regulated building materials.
