With 40 years of experience on major real estate developments here and abroad, David Gockel specializes in complex urban and brownfield redevelopment projects, community planning and redevelopment, stadium/arena development, and waterfront restoration. He has served as Principal-in-Charge on some of the firm’s largest and most complex development projects. Under Gockel’s leadership, Langan has grown fivefold in size from 250 people to over 1,500, and from seven offices to more than 35 since 2003.
Gockel is actively involved in industry organizations and received awards and accolades for his commitment to the engineering profession. Most recently, he was named a Fellow by the America Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). In years past, the organization has previously awarded him the Engineer of the Year Award from the New Jersey Section. He has also received the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Commercial Real Estate Community, and the President’s Award from the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), where he serves on the Board of Governors for NAIOP’s Research Foundation.
