CIANJ Honors Langan with 2022 Environmental Leadership Award
by: Nicole VeenstraThe Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) and COMMERCE Magazine honored Langan with an Environmental Leadership Award during the Earth Day breakfast reception and awards program on Friday, April 22. This award celebrates firms that prioritize improving New Jersey’s environment through green building, recycling, brownfield remediation, sustainability programs, and more.
Sustainable design and green practices weave through every aspect of Langan. With a corporate sustainability program and local green teams in all our offices, Langan is committed to reducing our environmental impact while increasing the reach of our sustainability efforts. We continue to push the envelope and find new ways to protect our planet. Some notable statistics include:
- Winner of the 2019 Acterra Award for Sustainability
- Became a carbon-neutral firm in 2018
- 115 employees with sustainability credentials (LEED, Envision, SITES, etc.)
- 72% of employees work in LEED-certified buildings
- Created an internal Sustainable Design Guide on 20 discipline areas as a reference document
- Implemented a company-wide green purchasing program
- Provide quarterly Sustainability Technical Trainings
- Annual Sustainable Project of the Year Award is given out to a Langan project that best exemplifies the triple bottom line of sustainability
