Michele O’Connor Selected as a Woman of Achievement by PWC New York

Professional Women in Construction (PWC) New York selected Michele O’Connor, Senior Principal, as one of its 2023 Women of Achievement. The annual award celebrates accomplished, respected leaders for their outstanding careers and contributions to empowering women in the AEC industry. O’Connor was honored during the annual Salute to Women of Achievement event on Wednesday, September 20, with the two other award recipients: Clarelle DeGraffe (PANYNJ) and Cathleen McGuigan (Architectural Record).

As director of the site/civil group in Langan’s New York City office, O’Connor is a trusted leader with extensive experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams on complex projects in the New York metropolitan area. She is a longtime champion for the empowerment of women in the industry. In 2015, O’Connor co-founded Women@Langan, an employee resource group focused on fostering an atmosphere of support, mentorship, and advocacy to help individuals achieve career and personal success. Through her promotion of Women@Langan, leaders throughout the industry have sought her advice on best practices, lessons learned, and how to execute similar initiatives at their firms.

O’Connor’s previous industry accolades include the 2021 Women Builders Council Trailblazer Award, 2018 Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation Pillar Award, 2018 CREW New York Founders’ Award, and 2016 Real Estate Forum Retail’s Top Women Award.

Founded in 1980, PWC is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, advancing, and connecting women and promoting diversity within the AEC industry.
