30 Hudson Yards

30 Hudson Yards is the anchor of the Hudson Yards development in Manhattan, standing at over 1,296-feet-tall. The office building spans over part of the Long Island Rail Road’s rail yard, encompasses over 2.6 million GSF of space, and features NYC’s highest observation deck located 100 stories above street level. Langan provided a Phase II site investigation, waste characterization study, underground storage tank closure, spill closure, preparation of construction specifications, remedial work plans, and coordination with the NYC Office of Environmental Remediation to fulfill E-Designation requirements for soil handling and noise. We also performed full-time environmental oversight, sampling, community air monitoring, and reporting; completed comprehensive surveys and 3D laser scans of the rail yards; prepared construction specifications; evaluated subsurface conditions and historical foundations; provided special construction inspection; and coordinated extensively with city and state agencies.
