50 Commercial Street

Located in the heart of Brooklyn’s Greenpoint neighborhood, 50 Commercial Street features 32 luxury residential units and 4,450 SF of retail space. Located a short distance from Greenpoint Landing, this development sits at the center of one of New York City’s fastest-expanding neighborhoods. Langan provided environmental oversight to manage contaminated soils, conducted in-situ oxidation to address residual petroleum, installed a zero-valent iron permeable reactive barrier to intercept contaminated groundwater migrating onto the site, and performed post- remediation monitoring. We also guided the site through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (Brownfield Cleanup Program and obtained a certificate of completion.
