Delacorte Theater
OVERVIEW
Established in 1962, Delacorte Theater is an open-air amphitheater in Central Park that hosts Shakespeare in the Park. The 1,800-seat venue required upgrades to its walkways, restrooms, lighting, safety barriers, and drainage. We provided site/civil services from design through construction, including layout, grading, stormwater management, utility connections, and permitting, and performed construction inspections and administration. Our geotechnical team conducted a subsurface exploration and provided recommendations for foundation reuse and unforeseen site conditions. Our landscape architecture team, including a certified arborist, prepared a tree inventory, protection plan, and coordinated with agencies on landscape restoration surrounding the theater.
