Rebuild by Design

OVERVIEW
The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy created approximately $65 billion in damages across the New York Metro region. Retail and commercial corridors along waterfronts were found to be particularly vulnerable having left thousands of residents without access to basic goods and services. Langan was part of a consultant team of architects, planners and advisors providing expert flood resiliency and mitigation planning services for Sandy-affected regions. The team’s specific mission included identifying and documenting neighborhood retail and service corridors in need of future storm resiliency.
