Tin Building at South Street Seaport

Langan is providing waterfront and geotechnical services for the reconstruction of the historic Tin Building and dilapidated platform structure, which is part of the revitalization of South Street Seaport. Our services include inspection of the existing bulkhead, subsurface exploration, and design of a new pile supported platform. The platform will consist of 170-ton taper tube piles supporting precast concrete beams and composite (precast/cast-in-place) concrete deck. Langan also provided multidisciplinary engineering services for other projects associated with the South Street Seaport transformation effort, including Pier 17, New Market Building, and Fulton Market Building.
