Stillwell Avenue Self-Storage

Located along Stillwell and Bassett avenues in the Morris Park section of the Bronx, this new storage facility will consist of two development sites - a 3-story lot-line building with cellar (about 43,000 GSF), and a 1-story building with on-site parking and all exterior-accessed storage units (about 11,000 GSF). The eastern site is bordered by Amtrak’s Hellgate Line and associated electrification infrastructure. Prior to commencement of design, Langan evaluated civil engineering issues critical to the site development schedule by reviewing building and utility information gathered from public agencies, sewer and water record mapping, and typical permit procedures. A major permitting effort resulted from the site’s location adjacent to Amtrak property. Langan led the effort to modify the site design to accommodate Amtrak’s design requirements for this site, and secured a letter of no impact from Amtrak for the proposed work.
