UC Riverside School of Medicine – Education Building II

The UC Riverside School of Medicine Education Building II is a 90,000 GSF, five-story building with classrooms, specialized teaching spaces, lecture halls, student support and study facilities, and office space. Langan provided geotechnical engineering services and construction oversight of third-party geotechnical inspectors and support of design documents. Our work included a subsurface investigation, seismic hazard evaluation, and geotechnical design parameters for the building, shoring and tieback system, and a tower crane. Despite COVID restrictions and limited site access, we completed fieldwork and remained the geotechnical engineer of record through construction.
