UC Riverside School of Medicine – Education Building II

The five-story UC Riverside School of Medicine Education Building II is 90,000 GSF and includes classrooms, teaching spaces, lecture halls, student support and study rooms, and office space. Langan provided geotechnical engineering services, conducted construction oversight of third-party geotechnical inspectors, and developed support of design documents. Our work included a subsurface investigation, seismic-hazard evaluation, and geotechnical design parameters for the building, shoring and tieback system, and a tower crane. Despite COVID restrictions and limited site access, we completed fieldwork and remained the geotechnical engineer of record through construction.
