Walla Walla Heritage Square

OVERVIEW
The revitalization of Walla Walla’s Main Street town square incorporates gathering spaces, water features, green elements, public amenities, and a new connection to the Mill Creek flood control channel. Master planning for the project included a four-block corridor study and a stormwater basin study. Our team overcame site/civil challenges by taking ground measurements and gathering historical data to fill in missing information from the predesign, which lacked survey and geotechnical data. We also addressed significant flood channel fluctuations by collaborating with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to understand the flood challenges and identify potential improvements and associated permitting timelines.
