CoreSite VA3 Data Center

OVERVIEW
This proposed technology park will convert a 21.75-acre site consisting of four existing buildings totaling 315,000 SF from office to data center purposes. For the site/civil scope of the project, Langan will finalize the proposed layout, per Fairfax County, Fairfax Water and Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) requirements, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regulations, and client specifications. Langan's geotechnical services include a subsurface investigation, preparation of a geotechnical report and technical specifications, and design-phase services. Our environmental services consist of a due diligence hazardous materials assessment and a Phase I ESA. Additionally, we are providing landscape architecture and surveying services.

TWA Flight Center Mobile LiDAR Collection and Mapping

OVERVIEW
Langan provided mobile LiDAR data collection, feature extraction, and mapping services for the TWA Historic Flight Center at JFK Airport, New York for MCR Development. Langan deployed its Pegasus Mobile Mapping System within JFK Airport and collected integrated video logging and LiDAR data for the project area. Langan brought the LiDAR point clouds into Leica's Map Factory and Certainty 3D's TopoDOT products to extract roadway and vertical features. The list of extracted features included signs, posts, signals, hydrants, valves, manholes, curb, sidewalk, pavement markings, centerlines, poles, overhead wires, building footprints, and storm grates.

Kapor Center Seismic Upgrade

OVERVIEW
The Kapor Center is a 3-story Chicago-style curbed building with a basement. Built in the 1920s, the building had been vacant for over a decade when the Kapor Center, a technology and social impact nonprofit, selected it for its headquarters. The building was gutted to improve the infrastructure through seismic retrofitting. Now completed, the LEED Gold-certified building offers a ground-level restaurant and shared meeting space, a rooftop reception area with a modern-style dome, a 100-seat auditorium, and conference rooms. Langan performed geotechnical engineering analysis and provided recommendations for the proposed seismic strengthening scheme. Our team also completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for the property
